Only ten more weeks and 70 days until we reach our estimated delivery date! So close yet so far away, although I am trying to appreciate the extra time so we can get more preparation complete. We do have a mattress now so that helps us be one step closer.
I had full intentions of updating my bump pic this morning but my camera is dead and I am having trouble locating the charger...hoping to do that tonight. My bump is definitely pronounced and you can actually see her moving around! She does not appreciate me leaning over or resting my arms on my belly, and lets me know with a swift kick if I have invaded her space. Sometimes it hurts but mostly it makes me laugh. I like to lean back and watch her move around my belly and wonder what she may be doing in there. Last night Stanley woke Ben and I up barking, which did not make anyone happy, but the humorous part was that she started kicking as the commotion had clearly woken her up as well. Little Stan is going to have to learn that it is absolutely NOT okay to wake up the baby, especially when Mommy and Daddy are getting their sleep as well.
This weekend is Jamie & Drew's wedding celebration in Moors Resort, Kentucky. We are looking forward to seeing the Buerger side of the family and to bump bellies with Jamie. Her belly is more like a toothpick but I think I have enough now to make up the space. :)

From room to Nursery!
Yay! This is an in process picture of Daddy putting the crib together but I like having his cute face in the picture. I took this on my phone so it is a little grainy but you can see the crib, the sheers Nana got her, and the lavender walls. Gramps is going to help us out by bringing down the furniture from my childhood room in the next week or two. It is finally starting to feel like we are on our way to creating the nursery. :) We definitely have a lot more work to do but I think once we get the big pieces put together it will be easier to organize and start pulling the final touches together. She is going to be one lucky little girl.

Undomestic Goddess
It is no secret that I am not a whiz wife in the kitchen. For whatever reason meal planning has never been a forte of mine. Quite frankly I do not understand how you can go to the grocery store and walk out with a full week's worth of meal and not have at least four to five frozen food entrees. Luckily, we live in one of the greatest neighborhoods full of world class neighbors. One such neighbor has taken me under her wing and is helping me learn how to meal plan and create a shopping cart that will last all week or more!
Meredith works for Calphalon, has a background in domestic economics, and is the proud parent of Manny & Coco (Charlie and Stanley's friends). She is always making new recipes and seems to be able to do it even during the work week, which I find highly intriguing. I finally got up the nerve to ask to be her student and she accepted the challenge. :) She invited me over prior to heading to the grocery store so we could discuss how to meal plan. She introduced me to Relish and to Kraft's food & family. It is like a whole new world, so exciting. We headed to our local Publix and she helped me navigate the aisles, taught me what Shallots are and where they keep paprika and other such seasonings. It was actually kind of fun and like the first day of school. heehee
Thanks to all of the help, tonight I successfully cooked honey-glazed chicken with broccoli, mashed potatoes, and finished it off with brownie and ice cream for dessert. It was delicious! Ben was so excited and inspired that he started putting together the crib. It looks awesome and as soon as it is up I will post a pic. We do not have a mattress, sheets, or any bedding....but that's up next so don't judge! :)

29 Weeks
Remember last week when I was so excited about my doctor's visit and the great results? Well the next day I receive a voice mail with something along the lines of, "This is Teresa and I was um, actually just filling in for Felicia. Well, um, I thought a score of 135 was okay but anything over 134 has to be tested with the three hour glucose exam." YEAH! I WAS FURIOUS.
Yesterday Ben, my saint of a husband, went with me for my three hour glucose test. It was miserable! You have to load up on sweets three days ahead and then fast from dinner the night before until close to noon the next day. On top of that they make you drink this nasty sweetness that is equivalent to shoving 3 snickers bars and a coca-cola down your throat in less than five minutes. Yuck. All of this being said, they called me today and we PASSED!!!! We are not diabetic and I asked Felicia if she was absolutely certain and would not be calling back, she said yes. So excited and such a weight off my shoulders.
Today marks 29 weeks which is a great milestone! Only 11 more weeks until her estimated delivery and 77 days...I can hardly believe it. Ben and I are enjoying our last few months of being just the two of us and the animeaux but are so anxious for her to be here. The crib arrived yesterday and hopefully we will be able to get it set up sometime in the next few days. I think after the showers I am going into overdrive nesting and want to put her room together as soon as possible so that it is ready for her arrival. I have not suffered any swelling yet and can still move around well so I want to knock whatever I can out while I feel pretty good.

Showered with Love
I am totally wiped out but it was well worth it after the wonderful weekend we had. Ben, the boys, and I drove home to Kentucky for the first time since January 2nd! It had certainly been way too long and it was nice to be back in the Bluegrass State and to see so many of our friends and family. We were blessed to have not one but two showers this weekend.
The first was at Nana's house given by Aunt Sallie and Jenny Howard. We had delicious lunch treats and some of the best sweets! Our guests were most of what I lovingly call the "Lake Forest Mama Mafia." It's hard to believe that in a few short months I will be on the Mama side. :) We played some fun games and spent most of the afternoon just laughing and having fun, which is what those women do best. I love to dream about how one day my girls will be sitting around my living room doing the same thing for my daughter (yes Ben, not until after she gets married and since you aren't allowing her to date until 45 I think we have some time...heehee).
After a quick nap and sprucing up we headed to the Turners home for our couples shower given by Aunties Staci, Erin, and Jordana. It was a blast! We were so lucky to have a weekend when most of our friends were able to attend and we did not waste a minute. Everyone seemed to have fun and we did not officially shut down the party until close to midnight. I hope everyone had as much fun as Ben and I because we were talking about how great it was and how lucky we are the whole ride home today. Makes home sick for our Kentucky brood. :(
It is also interesting to see how our lives are changing and although we were able to stay up late we are also officially amongst breeders. Six of the ladies are expecting! We are at different stages, anywhere from the third month to the ninth month. We got a picture of all of us to capture the moment.
It was so fun to see everyone and to get good advice and of course beautiful gifts for our daughter. She is going to be one stylish little lady! Ben and I are both in awe of the generosity of our friends and family and so thankful for the help. We are finally starting to get on our way to putting her nursery together and feeling more prepared for her arrival. It was truly a great, great weekend.

28 Week Doctor Visits
The appointments this morning went really well. We do NOT have gestational diabetes and all of her measurements are right on target. She is weighing in at 2 lbs 12 oz, which is more than I gained this month. Yes, you heard me. I am quite pleased with myself because I only gained two pounds this month! Believe me we have gained enough lbs pregnancy to date but I was a little heavy this past month with vacations and was afraid what the scale might say. The doctor says we are 100% on track and everything on schedule. It feels so good to be able to leave the doc without having anything to worry about except getting her nursery pulled together and enjoying the next three months.

Sweet Moment
This morning after my alarm went off I was snoozing a bit longer in bed until I felt her kicking me pretty intensely. My night had been up and down and haunted with some pretty bad nightmares that actually had to do with my pregnancy. I cannot imagine either of us had a good night's sleep. I gently placed my hand and help my belly where she was kicking and she suddenly stopped. I pulled my hand away and she started again until I replaced my hand. I couldn't help but lay there and hold myself/her because it was the first time I got to experience coddling my little girl. I'm sure I will have plenty of opportunities very soon but it was so sweet to have my first moment where it felt like she needed me to hold her.

27 Weeks
I tried to do some good back blog this morning but know that I am way behind. CNN did a report on the pain and suffering around the world because the people need to know and I am not meeting demand. haha, just kidding but hopefully some people have missed me. :)
This is the last week of second trimester which means I will not be traveling nearly as much for work or pleasure. Soccer season is starting and I will be planted in the bleachers cheering on my man and his team. All the while thinking of cheers to teach the baby girl so she can help me embarrass Ben next season. I cannot believe how quickly the first six months have flown by! To think that she will be here in only three more months has me in slight overdrive. We have not officially decided on her name, have not purchased our crib, have not purchased a glider, have not scheduled picking up the dresser furniture from my mom, have not done anything it seems like!!! We went shopping almost all day yesterday and not a single furniture store had cribs but we did find some possible items for our basement. Yes, our priorities are clearly straight...NOT! This morning we are making the final push to move boxes etc from the nursery to their appropriate homes so we can start pulling the room together. Once we get that out of the way we are (Ben may not realize) install her closet organization system and start trying to pull together what few items we do have. Then one of my neighbors is taking me to the crib stores and we are ordering SOMETHING today whether I like it or not. Ideally I can weasel my way into a good floor model and call it a day.

NC Mountain Weekend
On the heels of Girls' Weekend we headed to North Carolina the following weekend. My fam was up at the Big House where Ben and the boys stayed, and I shacked up at the Izard/Schenk Youth Hostel (otherwise known as the Flat Rock House) with my T-A-W girls. :) Anne and I had not seen each other in two years since I do not get out to Moscow, Idaho very often. We got to celebrate being back together, beautiful lake weather, my pregnancy, and Anne's engagement! Finally got to see the ring and start discussing her nuptials for next May. It is still pretty far away but I cannot wait for it to be here (and maybe by then I will meet her fiance as well, haha). Unfortunately I do not have any pics but as soon as I can steal some I will post.
