She knows how to say no

Abney proudly pointed at Sydney to inform our waitress that Sydney can say no. That's about all Sydney says!

I'm about to bless you.

What Abney said to me just before she sneezed.

No more high chair for Sydney!

We spent the weekend in New Orleans for mardi gras and the girls had a blast! Lillian and Kathleen have beautiful place mats and the girls were really excited to come home and have their own. Abney showed off first so you'll see my Sydney follow suit. The other big thing to notice is that after sitting in a booster all weekend sydney decided she wanted her high chair OUT of the kitchen and they both moved up to bigger girl chairs. They are growing too fast!!

Proof I'm doing something right

These girls are absolute best friends and so sweet to each other it makes me melt!  Tonight they were thrilled to get matching swim suits and this is some homework Abney brought home. :)

Carrot juice

On our car ride from new Salisbury to Cincinnati abney and Sydney were sleeping soundly when I hear a sweet voice from the back.

Abney: mommy?
Me: yes baby?
Abney: papa just, just have me carrot juice and now my seat is just wet.
Me: abney, did you have an accident?
Abney: uh-huh

Hysterical gas station stopped with full nudity, golden shower from car seat to daddy, and a boat load of beer to accompany us for our now late arrival to the party.

Love that instead of telling me she had an accident she instead informed me that papa did it.

Turning Around

This morning I was running a little bit behind and Abney was awake a little bit early.  We normally don't get to see each other during the week except in the evening.  We had some giggles and hugs and I was still rushing around like I normally do.  I gave her good-bye love and she went upstairs to check on her Daddy.

I was about ten minutes down the road when I receive a text message that says, "You didn't say bye to Abney?"  WHAT!?  I responded that I did and quickly got back, "She says you didn't."

I'm a full-time working mom who battles ATLANTA traffic 28 miles each way.  Already running behind.  What do you think I did?

Of course I turned around!  Why?  Perception is reality and if my little girl thinks I left without saying good-bye to her and making her feel special and important I will ALWAYS make it right.  She is worth turning around for, worth sitting in traffic, and will always be my number one priority.

When I got back and immediately found her waiting at the back door still looking for me I knew that the deposit I was making in her love bank that day would be remembered.  I know she will not remember this morning as an actual memory, but she will grow up knowing that her mommy loves her and that hugs and kisses with her are the sweetest spot in my day.
