Don't Blink

"As quickly as your baby grows, you rush to record it all. First smile, first giggle, first step. It's over in a flash-and you're on to the next stage."
I started to write this on March 11th and it is now March 28th. How did that happen? The purpose behind this post was how quickly life has been passing me by and the amazing rate at which Abney is growing, and it has clearly been so fast that I cannot even keep up!
"Don't Blink" is somewhat of a theme for me these days. It started on March 11th when I got in from a late night flight and heard Kenney Chesney's song by the same name on the radio. And then the next morning when I got this quote in the mail from Publix. And over the past few weeks while I was working Abney started school, learned to hold her own bottle, learned to roll over from her back to her stomach, and now she is pulling herself up easily with assistance. It is rewarding to watch her grow and develop, but difficult to be doing so from the side lines becau
se I have been working so hard.
I'm hopeful that all the hard work will pay off. So far my largest customer has increased our space with extra placement, my second largest went really well and I am hoping to see gains there, and our meeting with a customer that has refused to see us for more than five years resulted with the buyer calling me personally to set up follow up meetings. I will be excited when these results translate to numbers for our company, and am hopeful that they will. However numbers are not my sole motivation and I have been doing some soul searching over the past few days to understand exactly how to quantify what does motivate me. One thing I know for sure is that my baby girl and my family are the best part of every day! Whether I see these first moments in person or captured on the Internet, they are still happening and it means we as parents are helping her to succeed.
