Sweet Sydney

Sweetest Sydney-I am so sorry it has taken me two weeks to post about you and how absolutely wonderful and perfect you are!  It's not that I haven't been dreaming about how this first post would sound or all the dreamy newborn ways you have enriched our lives and will continue to do so, but I've been too busy enjoying you to sit down and write to you!  I promise to do a better job about writing to you and your sister but keep it balanced by not spending too much time recapping and more time enjoying.  My goal is that the memories we are making together will be indelible impressions in your mind and will not need a blog to tell you how wonderful our time is together.

Right now you are sweetly cooing in your chair while I'm curled up on the couch next to Charlie (Stanley is sprawled out on the other end of the couch with his tongue hanging a good 2" out of his mouth).  It's quiet except for your sounds and the whirring of the dishwasher.  It is amazing to me how quiet we can be together in these first few weeks.  They will go by quickly, as the first two already have, and I remember how much I will miss these moments later.  Your head still fits in my hand, your hands barely grip around my finger, and you still love nothing more than laying your head on my chest and listening to the sound of my heart.  This is by far the best part about being your Mommy.

I will post today about your birth story and pictures of the first few weeks.  I've decided I want to post to include a picture of you and your sister the same week/month of her first year.  You are both so beautiful and look so similar and yet different.  I cannot believe how lucky I am to have two sweet, gorgeous girls who make my heart smile.  God has blessed me so much and I know my heart has grown in order to love you both as much as you deserve. I look forward to every day together and while I'm relishing our quiet time today, I equally look forward to the loud times filled with giggles and squeals as you reveal yourself to us and develop the greatest bond of all with your sister.  Just don't leave me out too much... :)

Love, Mommy
