Last Christmas my sister bought me my little Stanley. He was very unexpected but has become a staple part of our lives and I cannot imagine not having this bad little papillon around. Let me give you a little background before I write the blog update:
One of Stanley's nicknames is Bean. I'm not really sure when or why I started calling him that but I probably call him Bean more than I call him Stanley. Bean is usually very docile and acts skittish (yes, I've had him since he was a pup but he acts like he is a rescue animal). But for some reason when we put him in bed at night he turns into what I call the "Beaniac" which is Stanley's version of maniac. Even if he has been sound asleep on the couch when we bring him upstairs he turns into the Beaniac and becomes extremely rambuncious and starts attacking our hands and the comforter. This is all in good fun and he is not trying to hurt anyone but for some reason gets extremely excited for bed time.
Well now this Beaniac has gone a step further and comes out in the mornings for Abney's feeding. As if breastfeeding has not been FULL of challenges to begin with now I have to contend with a pap wanting to play claw with me? Just picture it...I'm in bed with my boppy trying to feed Abney with one arm and fend off my papillon with the other. Yeah, it is a perfect picture of chaos but happiness. I like to think of it as just another dose of my dogs prepping me for parenting as when we have our next child Abney will be the one running around next to me looking for attention.
